Anna Pui-shan Chan graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in voice training. She pursed further study in ethnomusicology and graduated with a Master of Philosophy in Music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Anna obtained the scholarship offered by Hong Kong Jockey Club via Opera Hong Kong Chorus for the year 2011-2012.
During her undergraduate study, Anna actively participated in several public performances with the Hong Kong Baptist University Girls' Choir, with a repertoire which included Faure's Requiem, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Handel's Messiah and some local composers' choral works. Furthermore, she was the soloist who performed with the University's Chinese ensemble in their annual concerts.
Besides this, Anna is member of the Opera Hong Kong Chorus, which was established in 2004 and is the major organization which participates in professional opera performances in Hong Kong. She participated in productions, including Puccini's Turandot (2005), Bizet's Carmen (2006), Gounod's Romeo & Juliet (2007), Verdi's Don Carlo (2008), La Boheme (2010) and Huang Ruo's Dr. Sun Yat-sen (2011). Additionally, she was invited as soloist for the Opera Hong Kong Chorus Members' Recital in 2007 and was chosen to sing in master classes held by Italian bass Alfredo Zanazzo in 2008.
