Bieqja pageSina Farrugia Micallef was born and educated in Malta. She graduated with distinction from Mater Admirabilis College of Education in 1971.

She studied art at the Malta School of Art and Ceramics at Targa Gap School for Crafts. She was teacher of art and ceramics from 1971, and was appointed as Head of Department of Art and Education in 1994. Micallef Farrugia held the post of Officer for Art within the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education from 2004 until 2012. She presently lectures within the Faculty of Education - University of Malta.

In 1984, Sina set up her own ceramics studio. She continued furthering her ceramics studies in England, at Brunel University and in private workshops, where she worked with many potters, specialising in different areas and techniques of the craft.

Sina has taken part in many collective exhibitions and has also had a number of personal exhibitions in Malta, Germany, France, England, Rhodes, Cyprus and America. She initiated the Cyprus-Malta exhibitions in 2004. In July 2012 she was one of the guest artists exhibiting in the Commonwealth Marquee at 'Art in Action' in England.Ceramics2 page
